Making a nice page is very easy even for beginners! (okay it may take you a bit longer :-)
Please make sure you at least upload a picture or two and write something
in the Visions/Intentions/Explanations box.
(Homepages without at least an image and some text may be deleted occassionally)

Uploading a background picture will make a huge visual impact on your page
and you can find instructions for how to do this and more

Use the 'MyProfile' 'ProfilePhotos' for your personal images.
Use the 'Photos' 'UploadPhotos' for images of general interest to the Community.
Please don't post pictures of other people without their permission.
Please keep in mind that this community is dedicated to facilitating Planetary Awakening !
Rather than upload videos directly to the site
please upload them to your free account at www.youtube.com
and then follow the instructions in our FAQ section on how to embed them in the Community.
With Mp3 music files as with the images please put files you feel are of general interest
and relevant to Planetary Awakening in the common music library.
Put tracks that are more personal to yourself into the myProfile profileMusic section.
if you can't figure out how to do something please check the FAQ section
and if the answer is not there please fill out the form to request it be added.
The VideoZone is now a very powerful tool for discovering and sharing movies.
You can search Youtube without leaving BirdTribes,
select a movie by previewing it thumbnail or playing it full screen,
and then post it to the VideoZone, and if you like also show it on your own page
as a favourite or featured movie.
With a couple of clicks you can also save the movie to your computer
so that you have it available even when not connected to the web!
Another features that sets us apart from most social networking sites
is that we have Audio/Video/Text chat rooms and Instant Messaging to talk to friends online.
If you go to Members/Online and see that someone you know is there you can I.M. them :-)
Each member has their own Journal (blog) which can have unlimited pages.
Each page can have its own background picture that you upload.
You can use it as a diary, or you can use each page to present a project,
or a product, or and idea, or vision, or ....
Effectively this means that you can have an ever evolving
website of your own within the Community Portal!
You can also post classified adds, list events, interact in the forum, etc...
For the moment everyone will have full functionality,
but there are costs involved in setting up and running this facility
and we wish to encourage members to participate in appropriate ways in our work.
The basic features - like the Homepage customisation, uploading pictures, keeping a blog,
participating in the forum, posting Youtube videos, receiving messages, etc -
will most likely always be free for anyone genuinely wanting to be involved in
Netwroking Planetary Awakening.
However the advanced features such as video conferencing and instant messaging
are unlikely to remain free indefinitely - but there will always be scholarships
available for people in special circumstances or with special reasons
for wanting to be part of the community but not participate financially.
We will not exclude anyone who genuinely wants to network Planetary Awakening !

The BirdTribesNetwork is an informal collective of people who are attracted to the ideals and information presented on the www.birdtribes.net website.
Our original inspiration was from the book written in the late nineteen eighties by Ken Carey called 'Return of the Bird Tribes'. You can find a review of the book on the website.
The BirdTribesNetwork is dedicated to facilitating Planetary Awakening. Our themes include Peace, Beauty, Wholeness, Gentleness, Truth, Awareness, Health, Spirit, Angels, Ecology, Sustainability, Leadership, Communication, Sanity, Connection, Non-violence, Multi-culturality, Unity, Science, Philosophy, Love, Happiness, Abundance, and more.

To further these goals BirdTribes uses Art, Music, Poetry, Animations, Sacred Geometry, Information, Meditation, Personal Interaction, Ideas, Videos, Websites, Workshops, Software, Screensavers, Advertising, Theatre, the Online Community and Forums, and Merchandising.
The launch date for completion of the Cd Rom and activation of the whole Network was the 21st of December 2007. This gave us 5 years until the 21st of December 2012 which is associated with prophesies from many traditions. We believe that these 5 years will be critical to the long term future of the planet, and it is our intention to do whatever is possible to facilitate the harmonious transition to a sustainable and compassionate global society during this time of social, spiritual, evolutionary, and environmental crisis.
We seek to be a multicultural, non-denominational, non-dogmatic, spiritual community of visionaries working together for the good of all.
The Earth needs a miracle, which by definition is an act of Divine Providence, and is not something that humans can make happen - but we intend to create the infrastructure to allow it to happen through us if it wishes to :-)
We invite all people of good will to register and create a profile page at the community portal, check out the GalacticLightWeaver Cd Rom, and join the AbundanceSystem through an AbundanceSystem member - so that we can work together with these tools to create something wonderful.

1. Nothing less than the whole healing of the human heart will suffice to reverse the destructive momentum of modern western society. Even if we were to end war and dismantle all the weapons - if the human heart is not healed and the nightmare we call history awakened from at last - then we will recreate the weapons or find some other way to destroy ourselves.
2. SacredGeometry is a multicultural non-dogmatic spiritual Artform, Science, and Mystical path.
It is said that the language of the Angels is Geometries of Light (more specifically electromagnetic energy).
We suggest that the tradition that is known as SacredGeometry has an important role to play in accelerating the process of Conscious Evolution.
3. The World Wide Web has been acknowledged by many visionaries to be a key factor in the unfolding Planetary Awakening. Many have also spoken of the Web's importance in the creation of a Planetary mind or nervous system. Therefore we believe it is essential that the brightest visions of the future that we can glimpse should be woven into the fabric of cyberspace.
4. Financing the PlanetaryAwakening - Providing the infrastructure to allow for Global Miracles to happen.
Within the context of modern society the most effective way to mobilise large numbers of people is to educate them as to the necessity of taking action, provide them with an interactive means of communication, and reward them financially for participating. Therefore we have created the GalacticLightWeaver, the CommunityPortal, and the AbundanceSystem, to address these three aspects.
5. The Earth is a complex self-regulating system like ourselves. We are a natural part of the Earth's Biosphere. Learning to co-operate with the healthy natural processes of the Biosphere is the only option for long term survival. It is not the strongest species or individuals that survive in the long run but the ones that co-operate to form environments that are stable and beneficial for them.
6. The GalacticAlignment of the Earth's tilt, the Sun, and the Centre of the Galaxy, on the 21st Dec 2012 represents a natural Geometric division of the great cycles of time. It is also claimed to be the end date for one of the most important Mayan calendars - and the Mayans were perhaps the most 'temporally aware' society that the Earth has known. This date is also the focus of many other prophesies. Independently it was predicted that the accelerating rate of change over history, the curve that plots the frequency of new concepts and technologies - would go vertical on this date - and of course no one knows what that would actually mean in practical terms!
Even without any of these considerations we suggest that the current global crisis will be to a large extent resolved by this date. It is a realistic time frame to make a difference if we wish to see a sustainable global society rather than the post apocalyptic sci-fi nightmare portrayed in so many movies.
Therefore we commit to co-creating and implementing a 5 year plan to facilitate a harmonious transition to a sustainable and compassionate society - and we invite you to join us in this work.
